Write Or Wrong 81 R-E-S-P-E-C-T Working at a high school I get to see the next generation of kids and learn all about them. I get to see the latest fashion trends, newest slang, and the utter lack of class inherent to this new breed of teenager. I remember when I was younger. I remember that when a person of authority told me something, unless it was utterly ludicrous, I would pay attention. If they told me to do something, even though I didn't like it, I did it. Of course, there were exceptions, I wasn't going to do things that would be harmful in nature or plain stupid. But when an adult said something, you listened. Now I see these kids walking around, cursing left and right, and carrying themselves with such a superior air. They walk around, acting as if they own the world. Cursing out and even threatening adults when they don't get what they want. I look at these kids, who look at adults as equals, or some even see adults as lower, and I cringe. I think to myself that these kids are in for a world of pain in college and the `real world'. I think about how these parents that spoil them or don't raise them with manners/etiquette or a modicum of decency are the ones blaming homosexuals, the media, and other social factors for the downfall of family values. Wake up folks, these kids are the way they are because parents don't give a damn. These parents let their kids run rampant and then blame their behavior on other things. I just wish that these parents would instil some values in their kids, and that the kids, being how old they are, would realize that at 16 years of age, you don't know nearly enough to act the way you do. Adults are not your equals, you are not invincible, and maybe one day, when you mouth off at someone while you're trying to act tough, someone will kick your ass. Ah, now that was therapeutic. Now on to other things. Rapid Fire And here are the top ten memorable moments of the past month. 10.) During the debate, hearing Senator Kerry talk about President Bush's timber company and having Bush reply with the question, "Does anyone want some wood?" 9.) Seeing John Stewart verbally bitchslap Tucker Carlson, on "Crossfire" and then call him a dick. 8.) Going to see Team America: World Police and hearing the song "Everyone's Got AIDS!" 7.) Going to see Team America: World Police and watching two puppets get it on in more sexual positions than I knew were possible. 6.) Watching an episode of `Angel' where the title character is turned into a puppet and then seeing "Puppet Angel" run around fighting the villains of the episode. 5.) Standing around and watching the crazy, new guy at work doing martial arts moves while he thought no one was looking. 2.)
