Debate Numero Dos: Second Verse, Same As The First!

Wow, here we are a week later and it's another debate. Are you excited? I know I'm excited. So excited I really wish this debate lasts around twenty minutes like last week's. Who wants to see this shit for an hour and a half really? I also want to see Kerry just hammer mercilessly on Bush until he weeps like a little girl.

This is the town hall debate where actual American voters get to ask pre-approved by the moderator questions. My, my, my how I love democracy in action.

The first question: is Kerry "wishy-washy" on issues? Kerry was pretty strong on his answer, but then moved it to a nice little speech. Bush is actually looking good, and is doing the exact same thing.

God, this is pathetic. I fucking hate this shit. I wish these guys would learn to fucking talk and not give speeches. The problem is built into the whole structure of these debates. They're so caught up in rules and what is proper and all that bullshit that we're stuck with this shit. Like I said last week, I want to see a face-to-face argument.

Both candidates are coming out strong so far. And--heh. They just had a picture of Bush up there and you could literally see him lose his lopsided, arrogant smile leave his face as Kerry spoke. It's around 15 minutes in and I'm wondering if Bush is already beginning to lose it. He's not as animated and confident as he was. I can't believe how quickly this guy shrinks down. This is the effect of living in your own little bubble--not that I necessarily believe that that is Bush's fault. He's been unchallenged--seriously unchallenged--for so long that when he's confronted with it, he breaks down quickly. It's rather sad, actually.

Kerry's form has become weak as well. He doesn't answer questions or respond well. He just goes off on his own tangents that, while valid possibly, just make him look stupid. He uses the questions as a spring-board to attack Bush. I'm not sure how smart this is.

And Bush is actually coming back. He's regained his confidence and is coming across clear. He also just said "internets". Seriously. Heh.

Bush just lost it. That coalition business really riles him up, doesn't it? I notice also that most of the extended time questions are ones given to Bush where Kerry responds to what he said. To me, that either says that the moderator is favouring Bush or that Kerry is responding to Bush better than Bush is responding to Kerry. Demanding extended time hurts Bush, I think.

Bush has an air of desperation around him when he talks. Like he isn't stating his case, but pleading it. Strange.

Fuck it. That's the end of the column. We're halfway through and there's nothing new happening. Both are losers this time around. Bush is still weak and pathetic. Kerry is a schemer who dodges questions and turns them around to fit the answer no matter what. I just saw him go from John Edwards being a malpractice lawyer to talking about the deficit. It's horrible. America is doomed. These two are idiots. Fuck it.

At this moment, the author did indeed discontinue his viewing of the debate. He does not regret said decision. Nonetheless, he will cover the final debate. He hopes it to be a better show and possibly contain at least one piece of information that makes viewing it worth his time. He doubts it though.
