Bishop Quits! Story At Eleven!
Today Bishop John Sherlock, in charge of much of Ontario’s Catholic perishes quit. His last official duty was ordaining two young men as priests. He just upped and quit. No advance notice to the public as is routine. No big ceremony or anything. Effective immediately.
	Makes you wonder why. I can see two reasons: the first that he feels so guilty about what the church has done, that he can’t bear to be a party to it any longer. The second is, so far only priests have been implicated in the pedophilia scandals yet, no one higher (that I know of). Maybe this is the church covering its ass, saying that once they found out about Sherlock, he was fired. The new stance.
	I really wish it’s the first one, because it pains me every time I hear about another one of these things and the fuckers who did it not getting charged or held accountable. It really pisses me off.

Eves Is A Moron!
He had his chance to isolate himself from Mike Harris, but didn’t. He had a chance to win the next election, but he passed it up. No, Ernie Eves is continuing with the former Premier’s plans to deregulate hydro in Ontario despite a court ruling that the government doesn’t have the power to sell Hydro One, the main generator of electricity in Ontario. Instead, he is appealing the ruling AND rewriting the law.
	Deregulation is not a popular idea. No, the only people who will like it are the yuppies on Bay Street (Toronto’s answer to Wall Street). The cost of electricity has been shown to rise for the average consumer in other places when it has been deregulated, such as Alberta and California. And what about the blackouts experienced in both those places too for months after the new system was put in place? No, all Ernie Eves cares about is making his business buddies money.
	If he had accepted the court’s decision and then cancelled plans for deregulation, he could have distanced himself from previous Premier Mike Harris, who is very unpopular. Harris recently resigned his position and quit politics. Do you know why he did? I think it was to save his party. He knew that with him in charge they wouldn’t have a chance in the next election. So he quit like a good party man would. The party then elected Ernie Eves in an election that split the party in two almost. And a week after being sworn in as the new Premier, Eves fucked up and doomed the party.
	Good job, man.

Humanity Is Dumb And Must Be Destroyed
The proof is in France, people when Le Pen got second in the first vote for President there. Many believe that it is because the left-wing vote was spread out and that the Nazi bastard will lose in the second vote by a landslide, but it’s still disturbing. 
	All over Europe in recent years, right-wing anti-immigrant, anti-anything-that-isn’t-“us” parties have been winning elections and it freaks the hell out of me. The hostilities that are taking place between Israel and the Palestinians have given anti-Semites another so-called justification to hate Jewish people because of their religion. In this new global world, people are so scared that they’re thinking more and more in terms of “us” and “them.” 
	That’s all it comes down to: people are scared.
	Well too fucking bad. Suck it up. So you’re scared, eh? That’s no fucking reason to irrationally hate a group of people. Do you know why there are so many immigrants from Africa and the Middle East in many of these European countries? Because those countries fucked up those people’s homes back when Europe thought it ruled the fucking world and just loved “taming the natives.” Don’t blame your new neighbour, blame great-great-great-great-great-granddaddy. 
	A lot of these people are scared that with all sorts of cultures mixing that theirs will be lost. It’s an old story, and people always seem to miss something crucial to the idea of culture: cultures change. They evolve (or devolve) as time passes. Two cultures merge to form a new one. People share ideas. It’s natural and doesn’t always turn out good, but trying to stop it is hopeless as in the fight you’re culture changes.
	Take the Quebecquois, for example. They are a movement in Quebec that is dedicated to preserving French-Canadian culture, but now that culture seems more about “Fuck the Anglos as they are evil and anything not us is evil” more than anything else. Is that the culture that they want to preserve? One of hate? I thought it was one of family and tradition and stuff like that.
	There are some days where I really hate humanity and the imperfections it has.
